Tips for Going to an Event

  1. Check the details first. Click the official page or call the number listed. Times, places and rules can change.
  2. Register if asked. Caregiver classes and appointment-only SHINE sessions need you to sign up.
  3. Bring what you need. For a Medicare help session, bring your Medicare card, a list of your medicines and your plan letters.
  4. Plan your ride. If you do not drive, see our elderly transportation services page.
  5. Protect yourself from scams. At health fairs, never give your Medicare number to a booth that offers "free" tests or supplies. Read our scam alert.
